Moscow. July 20. INTERFAX.RU - More than 50 Russian universities were in the top universities of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), compiled by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
Rating was published on the official QS website on Wednesday night, its results were also reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Education. Russia was at the 2nd place after China in the number caught in the top-250 universities.
The traditional leader of the domestic higher education in the international rankings – Lomonosov Moscow State University - won the 7th place in the overall ranking, Saint Petersburg State University and Novosibirsk State University shared the 20th place.
In the first hundred (top-100) there are also Tomsk State University (43rd place), MPTI (48th place), MIPI 50), St. Petersburg State University of Peter the Great (61), Higher School of Economics (62), Tomsk Polytechnic University (74 ), Kazan Federal University (74), Lobachevsky University (76), Ural Federal University (78), "MICIC" (87), Far Eastern Federal University (94) and RUFP (99th place).
According to the results of last year's ranking of universities in BRICS countries there were 11 Russian universities in the top-100.
