The EEF was established by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin on May 19, 2015 in order to promote the development of the economy of the Far East and expand international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. This year, participation in the forum can be taken in two forms: face-to-face and online. Each block of the forum will be broadcasted in video format.
The main directions of the upcoming event are mainly related to the epidemiological situation in the world. The first direction is called "The economy of the new time: what will change and what will remain." The participants in this block will discuss the future of diplomatic relations, medicine, science and innovation, as well as big data media.
Already in the second block "The Far East - New Challenges and Opportunities", technological developments, investment and social breakthroughs in the macroregion will be discussed. Also, there will be discussions on how to reduce transport costs.
The third block is entirely devoted to ecology. "Shared Responsibility in a Changed World" is the title of the part of the discussion on climate change. Also, the topics of animal welfare and the development of the volunteer movement will be considered.
In addition to the business program, the WEF will host international business dialogues "Russia - ASEAN", "Russia - Korea", "Russia - China", "Russia - India", "Russia - Europe" and discussion of a large Eurasian partnership as an effective integration mechanism.
In 2021, the Forum will feature:
Exhibition exposition of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic. The exhibition will tell about the results of the new economic policy in the Far East, will present the key sectors of the region's economy, investment opportunities, activities and tasks of development institutions, as well as ongoing and promising investment projects, mechanisms for entering the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District (territories of advanced development (TOR) and the free port of Vladivostok (FPV)).
Industry exhibition "Welcome to the Far East". Within the framework of the exhibition, the Federal executive authorities of the Russian Federation will present investment opportunities, preferences and megaprojects of the FEFD macro-region in the field of international cooperation.
