The XIII BRICS Academic Forum was held in New Delhi from 3 to 6 August
The event was held online due to the epidemiological situation in the world. For three days, participants discussed a wide range of issues related to international security and the fight against terrorism, the development of multilateralism, digital solutions for health care, the role of alternative medicine, the achievement of the SDGs, new opportunities in the use of technology and innovation, the recovery of the global economy after the COVID-19 pandemic. , restarting cooperation in trade and investment, the role of women in the economy. The rich program consisted of 11 thematic sessions.

Within the framework of the Forum, two meetings of the BRICS Council of Expert Centers were traditionally held, in which representatives of the BRICS NCI took part. As a result of the work of the BRICS CEC in 2021, a collection of reports by leading experts from five countries on the most pressing problems of interaction within the BRICS was presented - The future of BRICS.

Indian Foreign Minister Subramanyam Jaishankar believes that the BRICS is a statement about re-creating the global balance.

More than 200 delegates from the BRICS member states took part in the forum. Among them were leading experts representing national coordination expert centers, representatives of scientific, educational and public organizations. An online conference held in Moscow was devoted to the results of the forum. It was attended by representatives of the BRICS National Research Committee, as well as the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
