The parade is timed to coincide with the date of the historic Victory Parade on Red Square on June 24, 1945. The military parade of Victory was attended by over 13 thousand military personnel, 216 units of ground military equipment, 75 aircraft and helicopters. Musical accompaniment was provided by the combined orchestra of the defense department.
During the preparation of the parade, military doctors took measures to counter the coronavirus infection: all participants in the parade were provided with personal protective equipment, and regular medical examinations were carried out.
The President of Russia delivered a solemn speech, after which a minute of silence was announced in memory of all those who died in the Great Patriotic War. Near the President of Russia in the stands were guests - war veterans from Russia, countries near and far abroad; representatives of the military and political leadership of the country, etc.
The defense departments of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Moldova, Mongolia, Serbia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan sent their delegations to the parade. [i]
Thanks to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, 75 years ago, a new stage in the peaceful development of the world community began in accordance with the principles of international law laid down in the Charter of the United Nations.
